Make Your Own

New Year Tableware Set

Join me for a special year-end private class where we make a cozy New Year tableware set inspired by the tradition of eating tteokguk on New Year’s Day in Korea.

In Korea, people eat tteokguk—a warm rice cake soup—on New Year’s Day.

It’s believed that eating a bowl of tteokguk brings good luck for the year ahead. The thinly sliced rice cakes symbolize purity and a fresh start. It’s a comforting dish that families enjoy together to welcome the new year with hope and gratitude.

You’ll handbuild a bowl, a small side dish plate, and a chopstick rest,
and then make a cup on the wheel during this 3-hour workshop.

You’ll have your own four-piece set to celebrate the new year with something handmade and full of warmth :)
